Webb Retains U.S. Open Title; Traber Takes Senior Masters
Las Vegas, NV - June 30, 2009
In a battle of two of the Professional Bowlers Association’s all-time greats, Wayne Webb defeated Brian Voss, 214-188, in the championship match to win his second consecutive PBA Senior U.S. Open presented by Suncoast title Friday at the Suncoast Bowling Center.

Webb, who defeated Johnny Petraglia to win last year’s Senior U.S. Open, joins Tom Baker as a two-time and back-to-back winner of the event.

“It’s definitely harder to win back-to-back than to win the first one,” said the 51-year-old PBA Hall of Famer, who was the top qualifier in the stepladder finals. “I was really a nervous wreck because I wanted to win it more than anything.”

Doubles Record Falls at Open Championships

Brenda Edwards and Stephen Padilla of Mansfield, Texas, rolled the highest doubles total in United States Bowling Congress Open Championships history at Cashman Center on Sunday, and then Edwards capped off the memorable day with a 300 game in singles.
