The Erie Community College Lady Kats won their 26th NJCAA National Title

The Lady Kats (Robin Donk, Tori Stobnicki, Kathryn Kacalski, Alyssa Murphy, Jessica Mamon, and Kerri Meden) grabbed a 363 pin victory over second place Hudson Valley Community College. Mohawk Valley Community College placed third.
ECC was led by freshman Meden, who captured the Kerm Helmer Award as the All-Events champion with a 12-game total of 2328, followed closely by teammate Jessica Mamon, who rolled 2307.
Shepard earned the Helmer Award on the men's side, averaging just over 223 for his 12 individual games in the event with a 2686 total. Brett Cunningham, Mohawk Valley, was second on the men's side with 2557.
ECC'S RAPP-CALLAHAN, DUKE, DUTCHESS' ADAMSON INDUCTED TO NJCAA HALL OF FAME
Three new members were inducted to the NJCAA Bowling Hall of Fame as former Erie CC standout Keli Rapp-Callahan, Erie CC coach Ken Duke, and Dutchess Community College coach Hillar Adamson were inducted at the NJCAA Hall of Fame Banquet, held Friday, March 7th at Salvatore's Italian Gardens in Depew.
Rapp-Callahan, who competed on two NJCAA champion squads at Erie from 1995-1997, was named Intercollegiate Bowler of the Year in 1995-'96, a year in which she was also selected as Erie's Female Athlete of the Year.
Keli continued on to become a four-time All-American as she completed her career at Fresno State University. She helped lead her teams to two runner-up finished at the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships, once with Erie in 1997 and once with Fresno State in 1999.
Ken Duke, longtime administrator and coach at ECC, has been involved with collegiate bowling nearly from the day he set foot at Erie as a competitor in 1976. He coached men's NJCAA Championship teams at Erie in both 1978 and 1999, and among numerous other contributions, has served his sport as director of the NJCAA National Tournament since 2000, and co-director of the Intercollegiate Team Championships since 2002.
Hillar Adamson has served as coach of both men's and women's teams at Dutchess Community College from 1995-2008, in addition to serving as President of the NJCAA Bowling Coaches Association from 2003-2006. Among his outstanding service to the sport, Adamson also served as tournament director for the Dutchess/Mardi Bob Collegiate Invitational Tournament for 12 years.
This year's event was the 38th NJCAA Bowling Championship held, and Erie Community College served as host for the event for the 30th time in it's existence.
